We attended Tuesday’s McDonald’s All-American practice session and came away with the impression the West team is the favorite going into Wednesday’s game. Mr. Basketball USA candidates Stanley Johnson and Jahlil Okafor standout as does sparkplug guard Tyler Ullis.

McDonalds: Okafor Powers West

Local product and national player of the year candidate Jahlil Okafor helps his West team win and takes co-MVP honors at the 2014 McDonald’s All-American Game in Chicago. West’s Emmanuel Mudiay (15 points) and Rashad Vaughn (14 points) also stand out.

McDonalds: Mental Over Physical

Three players who will participate in the 37th McDonald’s All-American Game on Wednesday night in Chicago will play for their high school program less than 24 hours later in New York. For all three, the motivation to win the prestigious Dick’s Nationals tournament has them more concerned about their mental than physical approach.
