Las Vegas: Top 65 Rankings

Mekhi Long (left) and Ricky Lindo helped DC Premier capture both the 17U UAA Finals and Las Vegas Fab 48 championship. Long had 16 points and four rebounds in the Fab 48 championship game win over The Truth EYBL while Lindo finished with 18 points (including 14 in the second half) and eight rebounds. Lindo finished ranked No. 9 in our list of the Top 65 performers during the third live eval period in Las Vegas. Photo: Ronnie Flores

We evaluated each day of the final July NCAA evaluation period in Las Vegas between July 25-29 and broke down our notes to rank the top 65 players we saw between the Las Vegas Fab 48, Bigfoot Hoops Las Vegas Classic, UAA Finals, and Rebound Hoops Las Vegas Finals.

The following rankings are based on evaluations from the three major Las Vegas events that run simultaneously during the third NCAA July evaluation period. The rankings are based on performance, not college potential, or performance combined with previous honors, national or state ranking. The overall level of talent we had an opportunity to evaluate July 25-29 was better than in 2017 and ended up being much better than the summer of 2016, which was the worst we’ve seen in Vegas in many years. All the tournaments this year had high level talent, but high level games during pool play were concentrated to the Las Vegas Fab 48. With over 2,000 teams and over 20,000 players spread all over town during a five-day period, it’s an impossible task to be everywhere at once. These rankings are based on what we saw and obviously would be alot different from another evaluators’ list based on which games and which event one focused on at any particular time during the five days. Our evaluations are based on all-around performance within the context of winning basketball. We also took into account statistics provided at each event and a player’s class.
